Haier Europe is a leading home appliance manufacturer, producing innovative products for brands like Candy, Hoover, Haier and Rosieres. Their portfolio spans cooking, cooling, washing and small domestic appliances.
Role
From November 2021 till September 2022 I’ve got the chance of working in Haier Europe within the MED team. MED stands for Milan Experience Design and my role consisted in supporting the senior designer in the development of products, graphics, interfaces, CMF and UX tests.
In collaboration with Simone Oliva, Senior Experience Product Designer at Haier Europe, I worked on the redesign of Haier’s Serie 6 oven, a limited edition showcased at Fuorisalone 2022. The goal was to elevate its premium feel through refined CMF choices, by introducing matte-glossy contrasts, a new handle in dark anodized aluminum, and a tinted glass door.
As one of my first projects in Haier Europe I worked on some onboarding storyboards that were later transformed in animations. These animations are shown to the user the first time they turn on the cube 90 fridge from Haier.
For IFA Berlin 2022 the design team was asked to develop some CMF proposals for the new version of the Candy Aquamatic. My concept was the one selected, prototyped and showcased at the fair. Since Aquamatic is among the smallest washing machines in Europe, I wanted to play into this aspect and make a playful graphic that could match the product aesthetic.
In collaboration with Aliki Zachariadi, Senior Experience Interaction Designer at Haier Europe, I developed two layout concepts for a touchscreen oven interface. One uses vertical scrolling, the other horizontal swiping.
